5 Limiting Beliefs That Can Disturb Your Work/Life Balance

5 limiting beliefs that can disturb your work/life balance

1) “The Only Way to Make More Money Is to Work More or Harder”

This belief causes obsessive working and feelings of restlessness or the feeling of something hanging over your shoulder. You need to change your way of thinking and create a schedule so you keep to specific working hours and let go of the pressure the rest of the time as workload never ends.

2) “I Must Work First, Relax Later”

This belief causes the feeling that you will never get it done, like there is no finish line or like you are on a treadmill. You need to understand that to be more effective at work you need to let your body and mind take breaks to recharge and be able to focus with new eyes on your work.

3) “I Must Sacrifice Now for Later”

This belief causes the feeling that if you work really hard now, and miss out on life, you will create a life situation in the future that will allow you to live the life you want. The problem is you are so used to work that you don´t know how to do or enjoy any other activities in your life.

4) “Taking Time off Means Lost Revenue”

This belief causes the fear that if you are not working every minute possible that your business will fail and your will regret not having put in more time. You could also focus on the progression of your business and see what you have accomplished so far. Was it fun to do? Did you enjoy all the small and big steps you went through? If yes, keep celebrating the small steps. There will always be more to celebrate on the way.

5) “I Must Sacrifice One Thing to Get Another”

This is the belief that you cannot have it all; something has to give. You feel like you cannot give your all to both your personal and professional lives. There is just not enough time in a day. This limited belief of your own person is what I called being a head.

I’m just a head, studying or working very hard to succeed. The problem is the head must stand on a body to survive and if you don´t take care of the body, you are not taking care of yourself and the head won´t work very long if it´s not strongly attached to a body with a good pumping heart filled with love and joy.

QUESTION: What other limiting beliefs do you have about working, your business, and work/life balance?

Leave a comment below, I would love to hear your thoughts on that!
